Alcatraz

While in San Francisco, we decided to take a ferry to the infamous Alcatraz Penitentiary. It was quite surreal stepping foot on the island that so many dangerous inmates once resided.

This is a shot of the morgue. When Kyle took the photograph he caught the reflection of other people trying to peek in. It added to the frightening aesthetic that it conveys.

Here are two shots of the prison yard. Jill imitated the photograph of an inmate playing dice to how the scene looks today.

In the next series of four photographs, Kyle thought that the cleaning products added a sort of whimsical feel to the eerie nostalgia of Alcatraz.
