Paddle Boarding Gastineau

After being in Juneau for no more than an hour, our awesome host, Ryan, dragged us out paddle boarding. We paddled up the Gastineau Channel where we went for many swims, some on purpose other times not. The water was quite refreshing at a rather cool 46 degrees F. We also had a friend following us for a while, a decent size sea lion.

  1. Ryan takes great action photos! You make paddle boarding look easy (and it must be even harder to do it while holding a fish!)
What a great adventure in a most beautiful place!

OK, now I am going to attempt to offer a most important public service - I am sharing my secret to posting a comment. Some exceptionally intelligent folks have posted without any problems (and even without signing in!). I am envious. Here's what works for me:

First, sign in on the very top right of the Blog. Click on the Rhode travels site. Scroll down to the comments section and write a fabulously witty comment. THEN, click "post comment". Close your eyes, say "pretty, pretty please!" 3 times, and violla! The screen changes and you have the opportunity to edit your work. If you are happy with it, then you get to enter the distorted letters in the space provided. Then, (and only then) will your comment be posted for real. Exhausting, yes. But so worth it!
